Luke Metzidakis is an 19-year-old stand-up comedian and writer. Luke grew up in a suburb outside of New York City before moving to Costa Rica at age nine. In three years abroad, he became fully bilingual.
On moving to New York City in 2019, Metzidakis began performing with the youth comedy group Kids n’ Comedy at the world-famous Gotham Comedy Club on 23rd Street.
After two years in the Big Apple, Luke moved to Reno, Nevada to attend the Davidson Academy, a high school on the University of Nevada campus. In Reno, Metzidakis cemented himself as a major figure in the local comedy scene, performing at local clubs with comedians including Aaron Foster, Mo Gobena, and David Gamble Jr.
Luke then worked with Reno Tahoe Comedy where he opened for national acts including Kiry Shabazz, Kevin Farley, Chris Martin, and Adam Ferrara. Luke gained a yet larger following by producing, hosting, and performing his own monthly show, Backroom Comedy. His shows featured both local favorites and touring comics from Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Francisco.
Metzidakis writes powerful, punchy jokes that deal with modern societal issues, double standards, and his unique life experience. Luke’s writing and stage presence have been acclaimed by America Matters Media, This Is Reno, and The Reno Gazette Journal, as well as many comedians and writers in the industry including Pat Buckles, Katie Felber, Carl Ford, Susan Batson, Aaron Foster, and Pam Benjamin.
Luke Metzidakis is currently attending Harvard as part of the class of 2029 where he is the Co-President of the Harvard Undergraduate Stand Up Comics Society. He continues to perform and produce shows in Boston and Cambridge.
